Kay Goodwyn is the President/CEO of Roco Rescue, Inc., which is headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With satellite offices in New Mexico, New York, and Vancouver, Roco is one of the country’s leading providers of confined space and structural rope rescue training, equipment and stand-by services.
Incorporated in May 1982, Roco is certified as a woman-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBEC South). The company’s client base includes petrochemical, manufacturing, pulp and paper and utility industries across North America. It also includes fire and police departments as well as special operations forces within the U.S. military. In 2008, Roco was awarded its first Department of Defense contract for training and equipment.
Actively involved with Roco since 1983, Kay became sole owner of the company in May 2001. As President/CEO, she is responsible for incorporating the company’s goals into the day-to-day activities of the organization while making sure that Roco’s true vision remains a primary focus. This focus is to provide the highest quality training, equipment and services while treating customers with courtesy, honesty and respect.
Kay previously worked for the Beaumont (Texas) Fire Department, where she became the city’s first female firefighter. During her eight years with the department, she also served as Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief. Educational background includes Business Administration studies at Louisiana State University, Lamar University, and Tyler Junior College.
