Bethany Florek is the Vice President of Human Resources for Greeley and Hansen, a leading international civil and environmental engineering, architectural, and management consulting firm exclusively dedicated to serving the needs of the water sector, headquartered in Chicago since 1914. Ms. Florek’s career in Human Resources includes working for the Philadelphia Eagles, The Walt Disney Company, and ARAMARK, specifically focusing in the areas of talent acquisition, training and development, and non-profit workforce training initiatives. Having worked for Greeley and Hansen for more than a decade, Ms. Florek oversees all functions of Human Resources within this 18-office global firm with particular focus in on STEM talent acquisition, performance management and development, engagement and retention best practices, mental health, and championing diversity, inclusion, and belonging advancements throughout the firm. Bethany holds a bachelor’s degree from Hope College in Business Management with particular emphasis in Human Resources and Operations. She is currently the Chair of the IL Diversity Council’s Board of Directors and serves on the Leaders Council for Chicago United. She is also an invited member of the Government Relations Advisory Committee for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where she contributes to advocacy efforts in Chicago, Springfield, and Washington D.C. to advance legislative efforts for affordable prescription drug coverage, care for people with disabilities, and further medical research funding. In addition, Ms. Florek is a 2021 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, the region’s premiere civic leadership development organization, and was recognized in CRAIN’S Chicago as a 2021 Notable Leader in HR. Lastly, Bethany proudly serves as a Director on the Apparel Industry Board, Inc.’s Advisory Board of Directors.
